The Federal Government of Nigeria has entered into a partnership with Coursera to enhance the digital skills of Nigerian youths through the Digital Training Academy (DTA) programme, which is part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. During a signing ceremony at the Education World Forum in London, Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa highlighted the initiative's goal of equipping young Nigerians with essential competencies in high-demand fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity. The programme will be implemented in collaboration with the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), ensuring nationwide access and industry expertise. The Federal Government has funded 36,000 licenses for the first year, allowing participants to receive training and internationally recognized certifications at no cost, thereby removing financial barriers to access.
