As of May 22, 2026, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported significant humanitarian challenges across Mexico, Dominica, Suriname, and Venezuela. In Mexico, escalating violence has led to the displacement of at least 2,000 individuals in Guerrero, Michoacán, and Durango, adding to the existing 390,000 people already displaced due to conflict by the end of 2025. Meanwhile, in Venezuela, a humanitarian response has reached 739,000 individuals from January to April 2026, providing essential services primarily in health, food security, and nutrition. In the Caribbean, flooding in Suriname and Dominica has affected thousands, prompting coordinated disaster management efforts to address the urgent needs of impacted communities.
