The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has informed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that their request to visit Nasir el-Rufai was denied due to an existing court order. The ICPC clarified that the order permits el-Rufai to receive visits only from his family, doctors, and legal counsel, as he is currently in custody facing charges of financial impropriety. The ADC had previously accused the ICPC of intimidation after their delegation was met with a heavy police presence while attempting to gain access to el-Rufai. In response, the ICPC emphasized that the police presence was a standard security measure and reiterated that the court has specified the categories of individuals allowed to visit the former governor.
