A senior military officer, Major S. Sayyadi of the Headquarters Infantry Corps Command (ICC), has tragically lost his life in a road accident on the Kaduna–Zaria Expressway. The incident occurred on Thursday near the Julius Berger gate, adjacent to the Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna State, when his vehicle collided with a Sino truck that was slowing down to enter the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) railway project site. Emergency response teams from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) and the Infantry Corps Command arrived promptly, but the officer sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His remains were subsequently transported to a medical facility and later conveyed in a military ambulance to Katsina State for burial, which was conducted in accordance with Islamic rites, while military authorities extended their condolences to his family, acknowledging his significant contribution to the Nigerian Armed Forces.
