Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) apprehended a 63-year-old Chinese national, Ting Hung Kiong, at Lagos Airport for attempting to smuggle a significant quantity of Canadian Loud, a synthetic strain of cannabis, into Nigeria. The arrest took place on Sunday, May 17, 2026, as she arrived in the country. Kiong, who has Malaysian nationality, is now facing charges related to drug trafficking under Nigerian law. The NDLEA continues to intensify its efforts to combat drug smuggling at the nation's borders.
