Nigeria ranks as the third-largest debtor to the World Bank's International Development Association (IDA), with its outstanding debt amounting to $18.5 billion as of March 31, 2026. This figure reflects a modest decline of $2 million, or 1.7 percent, from the $18.7 billion reported in December 2025. The reduction in debt highlights ongoing financial management efforts, although Nigeria remains significantly exposed in the context of IDA borrowers.
