Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa (CAPPA) has unveiled a documentary named "Sweet Poison," which addresses the escalating consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages and its detrimental effects on public health and the environment in Nigeria. The screening took place in Lagos on Tuesday and was supported by Global Health Advocacy Incubator. The documentary emphasizes the urgent need for increased taxation on sugary drinks to mitigate their adverse impacts, drawing attention to the health risks associated with high sugar intake. CAPPA aims to raise awareness and advocate for policy changes to address this growing crisis.
