The Lagos State government has taken significant action against environmental infractions over the past year, resulting in the sealing of 239 facilities and the arrest of 931 individuals for waste management violations. During a recent press briefing, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, reported that a total of 2,251 sites were inspected, leading to the issuance of 1,711 contravention notices. These measures are part of the state's ongoing efforts to enhance environmental monitoring and ensure compliance with waste management regulations.
