The price of liquefied petroleum gas, commonly referred to as cooking gas, has risen across Nigeria, with marketers citing ongoing scarcity as a contributing factor. The Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers (NALPGAM) reported that the price has surged to N1,500 per kilogram in Abuja, a significant increase from the previous price of N1,200. NALPGAM officials, including President Edu Inyang and Executive Secretary Bassey Essien, have expressed concerns over the current market conditions affecting supply and pricing. This price hike is expected to further strain household budgets as many Nigerians rely on cooking gas for their daily cooking needs.
