Indonesia: ASEAN Weekly Disaster Update Week 21 | 18 – 24 May 2026

During the twenty-first week of 2026, the ASEAN region experienced a total of 50 disaster events, including floods, landslides, storms, and wind-related incidents, affecting countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam. In Indonesia, the Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) reported significant flooding in both Pasuruan Regency and Pasuruan City, triggered by heavy rainfall on May 19. The flooding affected approximately 3,300 households and damaged around 3,300 homes, while also disrupting access at 13 road points. Authorities are actively implementing response measures to mitigate the impact of these disasters.
