The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has elected Babatunde Akinteye as its new national president during the association's 2026 national convention held in Abuja on Monday. Akinteye, who hails from the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, secured his position by receiving 349 votes, surpassing his nearest competitor, Aminu Maipanpo. This election marks a significant milestone in Akinteye's leadership journey, as he previously served as the NANS Senate President. The convention gathered student leaders from various institutions across the country to participate in the electoral process.
