Suspected Ebola Cases Top 900 in DR Congo - WHO Chief

The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that over 900 suspected cases of Ebola have been identified in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is currently experiencing conflict. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus noted that, alongside the suspected cases, there are 101 confirmed instances of the virus. The outbreak, attributed to the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola, was declared on May 15, and the disease is known for its severe symptoms, including bleeding and organ failure. The health ministry of the Democratic Republic of Congo previously indicated that there have been 204 deaths linked to the outbreak, with the total number of suspected cases reaching 867.
