The Federal High Court in Abuja has postponed the asset forfeiture case involving Timipre Sylva, the former Governor of Bayelsa State, to July 16, 2026. This decision was made during a hearing presided over by Justice Emeka Nwite. The case, initiated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), concerns nine properties allegedly linked to Sylva, with the EFCC seeking their final forfeiture. The adjournment allows for further proceedings in the matter.
