The Federal Government of Nigeria has entered into a strategic partnership with the Chinese company New Power Technology (NPT) to localise the manufacturing and assembly of compressed natural gas (CNG) and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in Nigeria. This collaboration aims to enhance the country's capabilities in producing essential components for CNG and EV systems, thereby reducing reliance on imports. The initiative is expected to contribute to Nigeria's energy transition and promote sustainable transportation solutions within the nation. Both parties are committed to fostering technological exchange and capacity building in the automotive and energy sectors.
