A group consisting of seven women and twelve children, all Australian nationals with ties to Islamic State fighters, is en route to Australia after spending several years in Syria. According to Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke, these individuals, referred to as "IS brides," departed from the Roj camp, which is under the control of Syrian Kurdish forces, last week. The minister emphasized the government's commitment to national security while managing the return of these individuals. The Australian authorities are preparing to address the implications of their arrival.
