The Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP) has issued a warning regarding the potential for security fragmentation in Nigeria if the expansion of a nationwide forest guard is not prioritized. In a statement released by the group's chairman, Isaac Abrak, it was noted that the increasing formation of local self-defense groups, including vigilantes and hunters, is a direct response to the escalating violence and attacks faced by communities across the nation. The NCYP emphasized that without a coordinated and formal approach to security, the situation could deteriorate further, leading to a fragmented security landscape.
