The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has called on residents to actively participate in waste reduction and proper sorting practices in light of the growing pressure on disposal facilities throughout the state. This appeal comes as heavy rainfall and challenging terrain conditions exacerbate the situation at these sites. Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, emphasized the importance of responsible waste disposal habits during a recent address. The authority aims to encourage community engagement in sustainable waste management to alleviate the burden on existing disposal infrastructure.
