The Federal High Court in Abuja has mandated the transfer of Saleh Mamman, the former Minister of Power, to the Kuje Correctional Centre following his conviction for the misappropriation of approximately ₦33.8 billion in public funds. Justice James Omotosho issued the ruling on Tuesday, which comes as a result of the findings presented by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. According to a relative, Mamman fled Abuja in a taxi shortly after the court's decision was announced, raising concerns about his immediate compliance with the sentencing. The case highlights ongoing issues related to corruption and accountability within Nigeria's political landscape.
