Amnesty International has issued a condemnation regarding the inability of Nigerian authorities to safeguard residents amid a surge of violence in Sokoto State. The organization reported that multiple villages in the Isa and Sabon Birni local government areas were targeted by gunmen between Monday and Tuesday, resulting in significant displacement of the local population. Additionally, there have been numerous reports of abductions during these attacks, highlighting the deteriorating security situation in the region.
