Reps panel, N/Delta stakeholders back Tantita, reject decentralisation

The Joint Committee of the House of Representatives on Host Communities (HOSTCOM) and Public Petitions has expressed its support for Tantita Security Services, a firm owned by Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo. The committee passed a confidence vote in favor of the company while advocating for the allocation of 6% of the HOSTCOM Fund as stipulated in the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA). Professor Dike emphasized that the PIA has already decentralized benefits for the Niger Delta region and argued that the current agitation regarding pipeline contracts is misdirected, asserting that the primary focus should be on securing the 6% HOSTCOM funding.
