Ibrahim Wala, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has publicly alleged that the party's presidential primary election was compromised by various forms of misconduct, including intimidation and vote buying. Wala, who supported one of the leading aspirants, Rotimi Amaechi, observed the primary in Gombe State and echoed Amaechi's rejection of the election results, citing a lack of transparency and fairness. In a statement on his official Facebook page, Wala characterized the electoral process as a "brazen, shameless auction" that contradicted the values the ADC claims to uphold. He further alleged that the election's outcome was predetermined in a hotel room, claiming to possess evidence of the irregularities and disenfranchisement that occurred during the primary.
