Troops operating under Operation Hadin Kai engaged and killed a suspected spy affiliated with the Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati wal-Jihad (JAS)/Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a night patrol near the Banki border perimeter fence in Borno State. The operation was initiated after troops observed suspicious movements from the Cameroonian border, leading to the suspect's neutralization as he attempted to monitor military activities. Following this incident, a sweeping operation was conducted in the area to locate other potential terrorists, although no further contacts were made. Additionally, a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP spy was apprehended in Garaha, Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, after being observed loitering near a military installation; he is currently in custody for further investigation regarding his connections to terrorist activities in the region.
