A male Nigerian pilgrim has died in Muzdalifah, Saudi Arabia, shortly after arriving from Arafat during the 2026 Hajj exercise. The deceased, who is believed to be from Bauchi State, passed away in the early hours of Wednesday as pilgrims were making their overnight transition from Arafat to Muzdalifah. Saudi security officials and emergency medical personnel were observed evacuating the body from the area, with two officials from the Bauchi State pilgrims contingent present during the process. Authorities have not yet confirmed the identity of the deceased or the cause of death, which remains unclear, as the incident took place during a physically demanding phase of the pilgrimage characterized by challenging weather conditions and large crowds.
