Tax Reforms: ACCI seeks 2-year tax penalty grace period

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has called on the government to implement a two-year grace period during which penalties for late tax filings would be suspended. This request aims to provide business owners with adequate time to adjust to and comprehend the newly introduced tax laws and systems. Dr. Aliyu Hong, Chairman of the National Policy Advocacy Centre (NPAC) at ACCI, made this appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Abuja. The ACCI believes that such a measure would facilitate a smoother transition for businesses navigating the changes in tax regulations.
