The All Progressives Congress (APC) conducted its presidential primary election in preparation for the 2027 general elections, resulting in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu being declared the party's candidate with a total of 10,999,162 votes. His opponent, Stanley Osifo, received 16,503 votes. Despite the significant margin, the primary was criticized due to numerous allegations of vote miscounting, inflated tallies, and procedural irregularities, particularly noted in the Southeast region. These issues have raised concerns regarding the legitimacy of Tinubu's mandate, suggesting that the integrity of the electoral process may have been compromised, which could diminish the credibility of his leadership.
