Dele Oye, Chairman of the Alliance for Economic Research and Ethics LTD/GTE, has stated that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has the potential to significantly impact Nigeria's economy by saving over N15 trillion each year in fuel import expenses. Additionally, the refinery is expected to generate approximately $11 billion in foreign exchange annually through the local refining of petroleum products and subsequent exports. This development is anticipated to enhance Nigeria's self-sufficiency in fuel production and bolster its foreign exchange reserves.
