The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has launched a fish farming intervention programme in Gombe State as part of the Fish for ACP Catfish Cluster Operating Programme. This initiative aims to enhance aquaculture practices among local farmers, resulting in reduced fish mortality rates and improved pond management techniques. As a consequence, participating farmers have reported increased profits from their fish farming activities. The programme is being implemented in partnership with the Gombe State Ministry of Water, Environment and Forestry, highlighting a collaborative effort to boost the local aquaculture sector.
