The United States has conducted a series of airstrikes in southern Iran, targeting military assets that posed a threat to maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz. The latest operation resulted in the destruction of four one-way attack drones and a ground control site in Bandar Abbas, which was reportedly preparing to launch a fifth drone. A US official characterized the strikes as defensive measures aimed at maintaining a ceasefire, marking the second instance of such actions within a three-day period. Previously, on Monday, US forces targeted Iranian missile locations and vessels that were allegedly preparing to deploy mines in the strategic waterway.
