The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has released a situation report detailing the ongoing crises in the Syrian Arab Republic from mid-February to the end of April 2026. The report highlights renewed hostilities in Aleppo and the north-east, alongside severe flooding that has displaced 308,441 individuals, including Lebanese refugees and Syrian returnees. As a result, the need for sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and protection services has intensified, with an estimated 1.2 million people, including over 300,000 women of reproductive age, requiring urgent assistance. In response, UNFPA has expanded its services, reaching over 33,000 individuals with SRH support and nearly 37,000 with gender-based violence (GBV) services in April alone. However, a significant funding gap of $5.6 million remains, necessitating urgent contributions to meet the six-month response plan's total requirement of $7.5 million.
