The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State is currently facing a significant crisis following the announcement of two rival candidates for the party's gubernatorial ticket for the 2027 elections. Jimi Lawal was declared the winner of the primary election by Barrister Adebimpe Adelowo, with a total of 19,428 votes, while Dr. Biodun Collins Ogundipe was proclaimed the winner by Mr. Adeniyi Adams, who reported that Ogundipe received 9,370 votes. The situation has led to conflicting claims, with Ogundipe's camp asserting his legitimacy as the candidate, while Dr. Marie Bolaji Odusina, another aspirant, has raised concerns over the integrity of the primaries, alleging irregularities and calling for a fresh election.
