Senate President Godswill Akpabio has praised President Bola Tinubu for implementing reforms that he claims have repositioned Nigeria's economy since Tinubu took office in 2023. During a visit to Tinubu's Lagos residence for Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, Akpabio highlighted the administration's efforts to stabilize the economy, which he described as having been weakened by unsustainable fiscal practices. He noted significant changes, including the elimination of multiple exchange rates and fuel subsidies, which he believes have contributed to reducing fuel scarcity and long queues at filling stations. Additionally, Akpabio indicated that the National Assembly is committed to enhancing security measures and is exploring frameworks for state policing to improve safety across the country.
