The Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently facing internal turmoil as two distinct factions have each nominated their own candidates for the upcoming 2027 governorship elections. One faction has endorsed Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, while the other has selected Tanimu Turaki as their candidate. Both factions conducted separate primary elections, resulting in the emergence of these competing candidates, which has led to increased uncertainty within the party ahead of the elections.
