The Kano State Government has reported a significant reduction in maternal mortality rates, decreasing from 1,025 deaths per 100,000 live births in 2025 to 570. This improvement is attributed to ongoing healthcare interventions and collaboration with development partners aimed at enhancing maternal health services. Prof. Salisu Ibrahim, the Director-General of the Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board, made this announcement during a virtual commissioning event held on Friday. The government continues to prioritize maternal health as part of its broader public health strategy.
