Retired comptrollers sue interior Minister over ‘unpaid’ entitlements

A group of 176 retired officers from the Nigeria Immigration Service has initiated legal action against the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, along with the Comptroller-General of the NIS and four other officials. The retirees allege that their entitlements have been unjustly withheld and have filed their case under the suit number NICN/ABJ/146/2026 at the National Industrial Court of Nigeria located in Abuja. The suit seeks to address the grievances related to the alleged non-payment of their benefits, highlighting the ongoing issues faced by retired civil servants in the country.
