Nigeria's central bank has announced an increase in the operating radius for Point of Sale (PoS) terminals, raising it from 10 metres to 70 metres. This decision follows feedback indicating that the previous restriction was overly stringent for agents and merchants. Additionally, in a circular issued on May 29, 2026, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) extended the enforcement deadline for the geo-fencing policy to August 1, 2026, allowing more time for compliance.
