A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, which is supported by Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has announced the suspension of Bode George and 23 other party chieftains due to alleged anti-party activities. The suspension was confirmed by Kayode Ogunbiyi, chairman of the Lagos PDP disciplinary committee, and Desmond Agho, the secretary, in a statement released on Friday. The disciplinary committee reviewed multiple petitions during a meeting held on Tuesday, which accused the suspended members of engaging in actions that undermine the party's constitution and collaborating with rival political groups. As a result of their suspension, these individuals are barred from participating in any party activities or representing the PDP in any capacity, with the committee warning that legal action may be pursued against those who violate these restrictions.
