The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has brought charges against 15 Chinese nationals and nine Nigerians for their involvement in illegal mining operations. The case, designated as FHC/ABJ/CR/281/2026, alleges that the defendants participated in unauthorized mining activities, which is in violation of Section 1(8)(b) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act, Cap. M17, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. The arraignment highlights ongoing efforts by Nigerian authorities to combat illegal mining practices within the country.
