DSS arrests 5, including 2 foreign collaborators, linked to Papiri school kidnap

The Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended five individuals, among whom are two foreign nationals from Niger, in connection with the kidnapping incident at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri village, Niger State. These suspects are believed to be involved in supplying arms to the gunmen responsible for the abduction of nearly 300 students and staff on November 21, 2025. During the operation, the DSS also recovered a significant cache of weapons, including 15 AK rifles and 1,434 rounds of live ammunition. The arrests are part of ongoing efforts to combat insecurity and dismantle criminal networks operating in the region.
