Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has disclosed that the Federal Government owes the state more than N40 billion for electricity supplied to the national grid. He indicated that this outstanding debt has contributed to the financial difficulties faced by the Ibom Power Company, which currently owes Savannah Energy N25 billion for gas supply. Governor Eno emphasized that the state government has managed to navigate these financial challenges despite the significant debts owed to it.
