In late 2025, the Philippines experienced a significant humanitarian crisis due to a series of overlapping disasters, beginning with a magnitude 6.9 earthquake off the coast of Bogo City in northern Cebu on September 30. The earthquake caused extensive damage, affecting over 217,910 families and leading to the destruction of homes, critical infrastructure, and essential services. Shortly thereafter, Typhoon Tino made landfall on November 2, impacting 1,526,203 families and exacerbating the situation with severe flooding and landslides across multiple regions. This was followed by Super Typhoon Uwan, which further affected approximately 2,242,319 families, leaving an estimated 13 million people in need of humanitarian assistance as communities faced urgent challenges in shelter, water and sanitation, health care, food security, and livelihood recovery.
