The Joint Market Monitoring Initiative (JMMI) report highlights the significant economic challenges faced by Ukraine from 2022 to 2025 due to air attacks and damage to energy infrastructure. These factors severely restricted the operating hours of local shops and financial service providers, contributing to rising prices, particularly for agricultural products. Additionally, adverse weather conditions and the loss of agricultural land led to decreased harvests, exacerbating inflation and disproportionately affecting vulnerable populations, especially older individuals. Despite these challenges, local markets displayed resilience and adaptability, although frontline hromadas experienced the most severe difficulties in maintaining market functionality.
