The Federal Workers Forum has announced plans for an indefinite nationwide strike in response to ongoing issues of unpaid wages and escalating insecurity in Nigeria. In a communiqué released on June 1, 2026, the forum expressed dissatisfaction with the Federal Government's failure to fulfill salary commitments made since July 2024. Additionally, the group criticized the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) for their perceived ineffectiveness. The forum also deemed the Nigerian Governors' Forum's proposed minimum wage of N100,000 as insufficient and condemned the recent abductions of teachers and children in Oyo and Borno states.
