Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the governorship candidate of the New Democratic Coalition (NDC) in Kano State and former Deputy Governor, has raised concerns regarding the state of security under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's administration. In a recent interview with BBC Hausa, Gwarzo highlighted a surge in violent incidents, including killings and kidnappings, particularly in local government areas such as Tsanyawa, Shanono, and Gwarzo. He pointed out that armed bandits have been attacking these communities, resulting in significant loss of life and property, and criticized the government's 'Kano First' initiative for failing to improve the security situation. Gwarzo's remarks come amid reports of increasing violence in both rural and urban areas of Kano, with no official response from the state government at this time.
