Troops from Operation UDO KA of the Nigerian Army have successfully apprehended an individual believed to be an informant for the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its military wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), in Anambra State. The arrest took place on Saturday afternoon during a routine patrol along the Owerre-Ezukala axis in Umunze, Orumba South Local Government Area, in collaboration with personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of Security Services, and local vigilante groups. Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect had allegedly been providing intelligence regarding the movements of security personnel to members of IPOB and ESN. Following the arrest, the suspect was transferred to local vigilante operatives for further interrogation, while troops continued to maintain a presence in the area to deter criminal activities and enhance security operations.
