The United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM) has reported the successful rescue of over 67,000 Nigerian migrants who were stranded abroad since 2017. In addition to these rescues, the organization has also provided reintegration support to approximately 30,000 returnees through its assisted voluntary return and reintegration programme. This information was revealed by Ms. Fatima Adeyemi, IOM Project Assistant on Awareness Raising, during the opening of a three-day migration awareness event held on Monday. The IOM continues to focus on addressing the challenges faced by migrants and facilitating their safe return to Nigeria.
