The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has reported a worsening humanitarian situation in Lebanon as the conflict continues into its third month, resulting in over one million displaced individuals and escalating food insecurity. In response, WFP has intensified its operations, providing emergency food and cash assistance to more than 700,000 affected people, averaging support for approximately 150,000 individuals daily. Despite these efforts, humanitarian access remains severely challenged due to ongoing conflict and market disruptions, with over 50 percent of planned humanitarian convoys facing delays or cancellations. The latest food security analysis indicates that 1.24 million people are experiencing acute food insecurity, driven by rising prices and economic instability, prompting WFP to seek USD 112 million in funding to sustain its critical assistance programs.
