The Lagos State Government has reported a total of 6,753 cases of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) recorded in 2025, highlighting a significant public health concern. Among these cases, 2,460 survivors have been identified, prompting the state to intensify its efforts in combating GBV. This initiative aligns with the government's broader strategy to address poverty and empower individuals, as evidenced by the creation of 5,339 new entrepreneurs under Governor Sanwo-Olu's administration. The state aims to provide support and resources to survivors while implementing measures to prevent further incidents of violence.
