The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), under the leadership of Governor Olayemi Cardoso, has introduced a comprehensive strategy aimed at minimizing fraud and achieving 95% financial inclusion across the nation. As part of this initiative, the CBN plans to reduce the amount of cash circulating outside banks to 40%. Additionally, the bank has implemented a strategic reshuffling of its Deputy Governors to enhance the effectiveness of these reforms. The governor emphasized the need for a shift away from cash transactions, advocating for a more digital and inclusive financial ecosystem.
