Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has criticized Nigerian governors for allegedly misappropriating security votes intended for public safety. In a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele claimed that these funds are being diverted towards party activities and personal interests rather than enhancing security measures for citizens. He highlighted that despite increased earnings under President Tinubu's administration, the populace has not seen corresponding improvements in safety. Ayodele urged for greater accountability regarding the use of security votes, questioning the lack of investment in essential resources such as police infrastructure and equipment, and emphasized that the responsibility for local security issues lies with the governors of the respective states.
