The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has identified 178 communities across 28 local government areas in Kano State that are at moderate risk of flooding. This information was revealed by the Director-General of NEMA, Zubaida Umar, during a stakeholders’ engagement event held in Kano. The event also marked the launch of the 2026 National Preparedness and Response Campaign (NPRC), which focuses on flood disaster preparedness and related issues. NEMA's announcement underscores the need for increased awareness and proactive measures to mitigate potential flooding impacts in the affected areas.
